I just picked up the oil and filter from the dealer to do an oil change on my TC29D. The new filter is smaller than the old one. The old one says "FIN 86546618" on it. The new on says "FINIS 087771912" and the part number is "SBA140517020". The dealer claims New Holland has downsized the filter. Is this correct?

we sell the 86546618 filter to our customers for the tc29 the other filter he sold you is for the tc35 because the 86546618 filter will not fit on the tc35 because of the way it is built ....

had the same problem a while back.did you notice the new filter made in japan was higher than the old one made in the usa.go figure. ....

86546618 nh list price 6.20 sba140517020 list price 10.24 you figure out which one you would rather use when they both spec out the same according to fleet guard who makes nh filters I called them last week to check! the sba140517020 is made by denso in japan, and until someone gets it crossed up nh will keep the price up there until forced to lower it. hope this helps the debate. ....

Sounds like quite a scam. I paid $11.26 for the little filter. If I'd have known what was going on I would have asked for the bigger one. I'd waste the difference in gas money to go exchange it now though. Thanks for your help.

Related issue - Has anyone used an aternative to the New Holland oil filter such as Fleetguard or Wix? The Fleetguard LF3795 or Wix 51521 are supposed to work on a TC29D. ....
